My Nature Journaling Club Page 7/18/23

Today, I found myself irresistibly fascinated by the shapes, colors and textures of the clouds as a storm front made it’s way into our local area.

They were beautiful and strange. Remarkable and wonderous. It led to conversations about the heights that certain clouds sat at and the colors that some had taken on.

It just served as a potent reminder of the wonders all around us in the natural world, in our world, if only we took the time to look.

I hope that at some juncture in your schedule, you take the time out of your day to just stop for one moment…and look. Look up. Look down. Look at all the wonders that can be found in the things that we overlook everyday.
Those things that we see but have become so much the norm that they are easily passed over. Look at the clouds or the rain. Even the soil beneath our feet and how it teems with life. How we would not be able to survive without it. How sick much of it has become…
Without these small, oftentimes considered insignificant things because of their regularity, our world but not be the amazing place that it is today so take a moment to just appreciate it.
With peace and passion,
I bless you with clarity, friend.

I love the way these photos turned out. The lines and the surprising blend of blue, white and grey. 🙂 I just had to share them!

Mantras. Those spell-like incantations we whisper to ourselves so we don’t lose our shit on our kids in the middle of Walmart.
I mean, why do I need to tell you not to put a tack in your mouth?
Mantras. Love them or hate them, they’re a thing and today we’re talking about them. Why? Because I do love them. Not because of any sort of mystical reason, though I do believe in that aplenty. It’s because I likewise believe in the freakish power of suggestion, the human brain, and the physiological response that deeply held beliefs can elicit.
It’s like chocolate. Dark, milk, and white. An epic trifecta poised to make sweet, sweet magic together.
So what is a mantra?
A mantra is a word or a phrase, maybe even several sentences, that embody a goal or intention that you want to achieve. You can say it to yourself as a reminder, as a prayer, or repeat it as many times as you feel is necessary.
I don’t know about you but I know that I definitely need a few mantras to get through some Mondays. So, for the sake of your continued sanity, here are a few Mantras For Mondays that I’ve compiled just for you.
I am living my most perfect life.
I am perfect as I am. I am created in beauty and love. I am enough.
I am peace. I am love. I am lead gently through this storm. I will outlast it.
I am strong.
My peace is a river. The dark days WILL wash away.
My spirit is a joyful noise unto thee.
Air. Breath of life. Heart of sound.
I am whole. I am creative. I am capable of change. I believe in myself.
I honor my spirit. I trust my vibes. I know myself.
I am capable of amazing things.
I am letting go of the things that anchor me to hate. I set my spirit free.
I breathe in my potential. I breathe out peace and transformation.
I am enough. I have enough. I am doing enough. I accept myself and my life fully right now.

That last one was actually a part of my Morning Mantras on my Echo Dot this morning so I can’t claim that one! I do love it though. How many of us go around with the constant feeling of not having or being enough? I know that’s a bit of a problem for me, at least.
So go forth into your Monday, no matter what day of the week it is, and kiss ass! Breathe in peace and breathe out all of the bullsh*t that gets thrown your way. You are a f**king miracle and you can defy this extra-long-for-no-reason supermarket line! You are a rock against the storm your under-napped bundle of joy is throwing your way. Breathe and mantra your way through that nonsense, girl, because You. Have. Got. This.

Today, I’m diving into Zen As F*ck, a mindfulness journal by Monica Sweeney! So let’s pull out some deep breathing exercising that you use with your screeching tots and finding our f*cking center.
The first thing you notice, and that I have to say about this journal, is that it is absolutely f*cking beautiful. Every page is ornamented with watercolors in a stunning array of color that makes even the staunchest of grouches pull out their phone to snap a quick new background pic.

The second thing? The gratuitous swears and “happy-ass vibes” that fill every page to bursting like a rain cloud exploding into a rainbows raining multicolored candies down from the heavens!

What is the maximum velocity of a Skittle anyways?
The point of all of this is, go buy this f*cking book. It’s beautiful, packed with moments for your happiest and most frustrating moments, and a hilarious way to get all of that bullsh*t off of your chest!
I wouldn’t recommend it for, say, your eleven year old but for you? Most defi-f*cking-lutely!
