Stardust: A Pagan Children’s Book From The Beautiful Heart of Ginger Ackley

Hello, Hello! I know it’s been a while since you’ve heard from me, but I wanted to share something very special with you today! Don’t worry, it’s not a course or anything like that! Cue the relieved sighs.

A very, very special lady that is near and dear to my heart is sharing a Pagan children’s book she’s written, and I wanted to tell you about it. It’s pretty difficult to find specifically Pagan kids books so, with a little witchling myself, I was pretty interested in her book, Stardust.

It’s based on a song we sing on Wednesday nights during our Circle, Enchantica (every Wednesday night at 6pm CST on FB) and is a beautiful and wonderful creation story. The illustrations are cute and cartoony, perfect for kids, and were created by rising artist, John Lollar!

As Ginger has written herself: “This is the enchanting story of Creation as the Little Goddess sits in the Time Before Time, in the Dark Before Dark. She holds out her hand and there is only one tiny, sparkling mote of Stardust! With illustrations that are completely enchanting, generations of children will cherish this book and the timeless story it tells! Perfect for parents to read at bedtime – and great for kids to read on their own, too!”

I hope you enjoy Stardust as much as we are going to! I can’t wait to add it to our bookshelf and our rotation of bedtime stories! 🙂

Stardust is available for pre-order now here: Stardust – The Book | Ginger Ackley’s Music

With Peace and Passion,

Ta! ❤

Come and Sit, a poem on my Medicine Wheel Circle.

Come and Sit, a poem for my Medicine Wheel Circle

Sitting in a Sacred way,

With each new sun, we offer and pray,

To East and North, South and West.

Walking the Wheel, loving our best.

We honor our tears, past, now, and yet,

Ancestors guide us through every threat,

And trial and season and even each love.

Our Elders teach honor to Sky Father above,

Earth Mother below, and the Nations around.

May we follow the Medicine Wisdom we’ve found,

Until one day, we be Ancestor ourselves,

To guide the Seven generations that in love may dwell.

In Peace, Humility, Compassion too,

If none have said it today, I DO love YOU.

-C.M.

A Lament For The Little Ones Lost

People watch as a convoy of truckers and other vehicles travel in front of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School in support of the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc people after the remains of 215 children were discovered buried near the facility, in Kamloops, Canada, on June 5, 2021. – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on June 4 urged the Catholic Church to “take responsibility” and release records on indigenous residential schools under its direction, after the discovery of remains of 215 children in unmarked graves. A Lament For The Little Ones Lost

Little Ones, we bring you home

from your earthy bed,

Treated so poorly thus in life,

In Mother Earth you rest your head.

Snatched and clawed from your mothers’ arms,

Beaten down, mistreated,

Hurts beyond past numbering,

Your dead now reach far passed alarm.

Innumerable crimes have gone untold,

Tears as the tide come in,

Little voices in the wind,

Their sweet lights now forever cold.

With Ancestors and Mother you now do dwell,

In that “Residential” grave.

We’ll bring you home, now don’t you cry,

Always know, this isn’t farewell.

For our Ceremony never ends,

Our Wheel is ever turning.

Always in prayer for Little Ones lost,

Sisters, Brothers, Relatives, and Friends.

I Like Big Bunnies And I Cannot Lie

Persephone officially has her own large space! Little Maxwell and I spent a good part of the day setting it up and building it. 🙂 What do you think? Or wee bun send to really love it, if I can judge by the binkies and happy hops! We were able to put more enrichment items in the space now that we didn’t have to worry about crowding it as much. 🙂

I ultimately ended up taking the white top off of the inner cage and adding a hanging water bottle instead of just a dish. She has two hidey holes. One inside the inner cage made of woven grass and a cardboard tunnel next to it outside of the inner cage. Taking the top off ultimately just made it easier to get her litter tray out since it’s not a pull-out tray. I actually use a small flat tray inside of the cage that I then line with a sanitary pad to soak up the urine. You can kind of see where her pellet poops are in the upper left of the first picture. What Lies Above

Today, I found myself irresistibly fascinated by the shapes, colors and textures of the clouds as a storm front made it’s way into our local area.

They were beautiful and strange. Remarkable and wonderous. It led to conversations about the heights that certain clouds sat at and the colors that some had taken on.

It just served as a potent reminder of the wonders all around us in the natural world, in our world, if only we took the time to look.

I hope that at some juncture in your schedule, you take the time out of your day to just stop for one moment…and look. Look up. Look down. Look at all the wonders that can be found in the things that we overlook everyday.

Those things that we see but have become so much the norm that they are easily passed over. Look at the clouds or the rain. Even the soil beneath our feet and how it teems with life. How we would not be able to survive without it. How sick much of it has become…

Without these small, oftentimes considered insignificant things because of their regularity, our world but not be the amazing place that it is today so take a moment to just appreciate it.

With peace and passion,

I bless you with clarity, friend.

A Birthday Fundraiser For Lymphoma!

My dad is going through radiation treatment for Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma right now. He just started to lose his hair and it’s been a really hard road for him this year. We’re Tennessee natives and it would really mean a lot for our community to show up for the good for him right now. Our family is very close and so my parents don’t have many wants so instead of raising money for them directly, I’d like to do this fundraiser my birthday this year. If you would like to donate to them directly for his treatments or needs, however, Venmo to @CMcRey. Thank you to everyone for your consideration and please be your most well. ♥️

You Are My World

The world I inhabit vibrates on the

frequency of your heart

The air I breathe is my admiration,

My adoration,

My deepest love for you.

The sun that hangs within my sky

Is your smile,

The wind your dance,

The sound of the rain in the trees

Your laughter.

My awareness,

Consciousness,

The sight of your sleeping face,

The smell of your hugs,

The sound of your amazement and joy.

The taste of my heartbeat on my tongue

As you rush daringly,

Headlong into the world.

The feel of you in my arms

As you seek simply the comfort,

The company,

Of mother.

I love you, sweet baby,

My love,

My life.

My earth,

My sea,

My love to thee.

Songs of Storms

I need the rain like I need the sun.
All the way down to my water starved roots.
Thunder speaks to me,
Gently,
Joyfully,
Shouting over the rooftops for every woman to hear.
For every girl-witch
Who dances for rain,
Spinning
Laughing
Leaping.
Drink deeply of life and of passion
It whispers.
Let your lips be wet
While your life songs spill forth.’
Like the clear, cool, clean rain
That kisses my head with every drop.

In that rain, we flourish.
